Tania Martins-Marques is a researcher at the Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research (iCBR), Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra (FMUC) & Centre for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology (CIBB). Her research has contributed to unveil the mechanisms underlying abnormal trafficking and degradation of Cx43 in myocardial infarction. More recently, she has been exploring the non-canonical roles of Cx43, namely in long-range communication via extracellular vesicles, and in the nucleus.
