Expertise: Prof. Srinivas expertise is in multifunctional nanoparticles for imaging and drug delivery. Her team has developed nanoparticles containing imaging agents (MRI, fluorescence, ultrasound, photoacoustics, PET, SPECT), with drugs and external targeting agents. Some formulations have been translated to GMP-grade and approved for a clinical cell imaging trial in the NL. These have also been patented and spun-out for clinical use.
Role in the consortium: WUR will be in charge of NPs manufacturing. The NPs manufacturing processes available at WUR will be instrumental for inclusion of multimodal imaging agents in NPs in combination with the therapeutic cargos.
