Private AreaHenrique Girao
Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Coimbra
Expertise: Prof. Girao is specialized in cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of protein degradation and intercellular communication, necessary for the maintenance of cell homeostasis. HG studies have helped to elucidate the mechanisms underlying gap junctions remodelling, extracellular vesicles-mediated communication and biological membranes disruption associated with cardiac diseases.
Role in the consortium: COI will participate in validation of the new nanotechnology in vitro, and in vivo with mouse work in collaboration with CCM.
